Notable Moments

  • Florida's Bridget Sloan was the second straight freshman from Florida to win the all-around, following Kytra Hunter.
  • Florida won their first NCAA title.
  • Alaina Johnson became the first gymnast from Florida to win the NCAA title on uneven bars.
  • Joanna Sampson became the first gymnast from Michigan to win the NCAA title on floor.
  • UCLA's Danusia Francis threw a free aerial cartwheel from sidestand on balance beam, never seen or done before in women's gymnastics. Unfortunately, she fell on another skill and did not make the top three on that event.
