These gymnasts have won the Longines Prize for Elegance at the World Championships. From 1997 to 2019, watchmaker Longines awarded the “Longines Prize for Elegance” to a male and female gymnast at the World Gymnastics Championships (and the 2016 European Championships). “Elegance” can be interpreted in several ways: a spirited comeback after not being given an Olympic wildcard to sportsmanship to having a historic performance for your country.

The athletes under consideration for the prize had been evaluated according to a number of complementary criteria. In addition to technical considerations, each athlete’s performance has been judged with respect to emotional appeal, beauty, charm, charisma as well as grace and harmony of movement.
