Elena Piskun (Belarusian: Алена Піскун, born February 2, 1978, in Bobruisk) is a retired Belarusian gymnast. She began gymnastics in 1984 and was coached by Valery Kolodinsky at the Spartak club.

Career

Piskun began competing internationally in 1991 at the Cottbus International, where she placed 1st in the all-around and on floor exercise. She continued to compete internationally after the collapse of the Soviet Union, representing her native country of Belarus. In 1993, she won the vault title at the World Championships in Birmingham, England, the first World Championship gold medal for an independent Belarus. She was unable to defend her title at the 1994 or 1995 Worlds. At the 1996 Worlds in San Juan, she won the World title on the uneven bars.

Piskun was a member of the Belarusian team at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. The team finished 6th while Piskun finished 12th in the all-around.

After a disappointing World Championships in 1997, Piskun retired. She's currently coaching at NorthWind Gymnastics Center in Alpharetta, Georgia.
