This is the article about the Canadian gymnast. For the article about the 2012 Olympic All-Around Champion, see Gabby Douglas.
Jordan Gabriella Douglas, known in competition as Gabriella Douglas, (born August 15 in Etobicoke) is an elite Canadian gymnast. She is one of few gymnasts capable of performing a quintuple spin on balance beam.
Douglas made her senior international debut at the 2012 International Gymnix. There, she placed eighth in the all-around, first on balance beam, and sixth on floor exercise. She was not named to the Canadian team for the Olympics, but continued to compete afterwards. At the Élite Gym Massilia, she won gold in the all-around and on balance beam and silver on vault in the open team division, silver on balance beam in the open individual division, and gold on balance beam in the master division.
The following year, she won gold on floor, silver on balance beam, and placed eleventh in the all-around at the Canadian National Championships. She was selected to compete at the Pan American Championships, where she qualified first for the balance beam final, but fell in the final and finished eighth.
Douglas competed at the 2014 Canadian Nationals in late May, placing sixth on floor and seventh on beam.
Douglas only competed on uneven bars at the 2015 Elite Canada in early January, but did not make the event finals. At the International Gymnix in March, she won silver on beam and placed sixth on floor and seventh in the all-around.
She is committed to Michigan State University, but will be deffering her enrollment until 2016.
