Lauren Navarro (born August 23, 1999) is an American elite gymnast. Her favorite event is uneven bars.

Career

Pre-Elite

Navarro began gymnastics in 2005 when her mom enrolled her in Gymboree tumbling classes; she began competing as a level 4 in 2007. Navarro began competing level 10 in 2012. That year she won the balance beam title at the Lady Luck invitational as well as uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and the all-around title at the Gliders Invitational and uneven bars and balance beam at the AOGC Invitational. At the 2012 State Championships Navarro won a silver medal in the all-around and a gold medal on balance beam. At the Region 1 Championships she won a bronze medal on uneven bars. In her second season as a level 10 in 2013, she competed at the Gliders Invitational where she won silver medals in the all-around, uneven bars and on balance beam as well as a bronze medal on vault.

Junior Career

2013

Navarro qualified as an elite in July. She qualified to the Junior U.S. National Championships at the American Classic where she placed 6th in the all-around, 9th on vault, 8th on uneven bars, 4th on balance beam and 10th on floor exercise. She competed at the U.S. Classic and placed 32nd in the all-around after a disappointing meet. At the Junior U.S. National Championships she placed 19th in the all-around.

2014

In July, Navarro placed 9th at the U.S. Classic, qualifying to the Junior U.S. National Championships again. Due to the large number of junior competitors Navarro competed during the senior session though her scores still counted in the junior competition. At the 2014 Junior U.S. National Championships she placed 11th in the all-around and won a bronze medal on balance beam.

Senior Career

2015

Navarro's senior debut came at the U.S. Classic, placing eighth on beam and fourteenth on bars. At the National Championships in August, she placed fourteenth in the all-around, uneven bars, and floor exercise and sixteenth on beam.

2016

Navarro competed at the American Classic in May, tying for the all-around gold with Lexy Ramler. In June, she competed at the U.S. Classic, placing sixth in the all-around, tenth on vault, uneven bars, and balance beam, and fourteenth on floor exercise. At the National Championships, she placed fourteenth on balance beam, sixteenth in the all-around, nineteenth on floor exercise, and twenty-second on uneven bars.
