Her best events are uneven bars and balance beam.

Junior Career[]

2010[]

Chen competed in the Junior Nationals in 2010, where she placed tenth on vault.

2012[]

At the Individual Nationals, she had a sixth place finish on bars. At the Élite Gym Massilia in the fall, where she made her international debut, she won gold on bars, silver in AA and placed fourth on beam, despite a fall.

2013[]

In January, she competed at the Australian Olympic Youth Festival with three other Chinese juniors. She won gold with the team and silver on balance beam. In September, she competed at the Chinese National Games, placing sixth with her team and eighteenth in the all-around.

Senior Career[]

2014[]

Chen's senior debut came at the Chinese Nationals, where she placed fifth with her team. She was named to the Chinese team for the Asian Games and World Championships. At the Asian Games, she won team gold but did not qualify to the all-around as Yao Jinnan and Shang Chunsong had qualified ahead of her.

At the World Championships, Chen contributed to her team qualifying to the team final in second place, amidst a few falls. The Chinese delegation chose to switch their lineup around, and Chen was put in for vault and floor exercise. She had a near fall on her double-twisting Yurchenko vault and put her hands down on her last pass on floor exercise, dropping the Chinese team to silver medal position.

2015[]

Chen competed at the São Paulo World Cup in May, placing fourth on beam, and fifth on bars and floor. At the Chinese National Championships, she won bronze in the all-around and placed fourth on floor, sixth on beam, and seventh with her team. In late July, she competed at the Asian Championships in Hiroshima, Japan, winning team silver and placing fourth in the all-around. In October, she competed at the World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, helping the Chinese win the silver medal behind the Americans.

2017[]

After not making the Olympic team, Chen competed at the Chinese National Championships in May, placing eleventh with her team. She officially announced her retirement at the Chinese National Games.[1]
