Chen Yile (Chinese: 陈怡乐; pinyin: Chén Yílè; born January 5 in Jiangxi) is an elite Chinese gymnast. She represented the Guangdong province in domestic competition. She is the 2017 Chinese National All-Around silver medalist and Chinese National Games All-Around Champion.
Junior Career[]
2015[]
Chen competed at the Chinese Junior National Championships, winning silver with her team.
2017[]
Chen made her international debut at the Asian Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. There, she won team, all-around, and uneven bars gold, floor exercise silver, and bronze on balance beam. At the Chinese National Championships in Wuhan, she won team gold, all-around silver, and placed fifth on bars and seventh on beam. At the Chinese National Games in Tianjin, she won team and all-around gold, balance beam and floor exercise silver, and placed fifth on uneven bars. In September, she competed at the Japan Junior International, winning gold on uneven bars, silver on balance beam, bronze in the all-around, and placing fifth on floor exercise.
Senior Career[]
2018[]
Chen made her senior debut at the Melbourne World Cup in February. Although she fell on uneven bars, she was still able to win silver behind her teammate, Du Siyu. She bounced back on balance beam and won gold. In May, she competed at the Chinese National Championships, winning team gold, balance beam silver, and uneven bars bronze.
In late August, she competed at the Asian Games, winning team, all-around, and balance beam gold, and placing fifth on floor exercise. She was later named to the Chinese team for the World Championships in Doha, Qatar in late October. There, she helped China win a team bronze medal, and automatically qualify a full team to the 2020 Olympics, and individually placed seventh in the all-around.
2019[]
Injuries hampered her training, but she was well enough to compete at the World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany in October. China qualified second into the team final, but falls dropped them down to fourth place, just outside the medals.
2020-2021[]
Chen competed at the postponed Chinese National Championships in September, winning team gold.
In 2021, Chen competed at the Chinese Championships on all event except for uneven bars. She helped Guangdong to a first place finish and made the floor exercise final where she placed sixth.
