Mattie Larson (born May 20, 1992 in Los Angeles) is an elite American gymnast. She was a member of the U.S. National Team and was the 2010 National Champion on floor exercise. Additionally, she was the 2005 Level 10 State, Regional, and National Champion. Her parents, Eric Larson and Gail Boggs, are actors. She competed for the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team.

Gymnastics Career

Though expected to challenge for a spot on the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team, Larson injured her leg before the final day of the selection camp and could not compete on her best events. Other injuries followed, and she was out of competition for nearly two years.

Larson came back strong in 2010 to win the all-around title at the CoverGirl Classic in July. A month later she won three medals at the 2010 U.S. National Championships: gold on floor, silver in the all-around, and bronze on uneven bars.

Larson was named to the American team to compete at the World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands. She fumbled in qualifications, posting scores in the low 13 and 14 range. She competed on only one event during the team final, floor exercise. She ended up leaving out her punch front layout in her third tumbling pass and falling on her last pass, resulting in a low score. The American women won a silver medal behind the Russian team.

In 2011, Larson announced that she was retiring from elite gymnastics and going to UCLA. She joined their gymnastics team, the Bruins. She retired from NCAA gymnastics in January 2014.[1]
