Maria Rauta (born July 17 Focsani) is a retired Romanian artistic gymnast. She's the 2011 Romanian Junior National Champion. She trained at CSSG Focsani under Adriana Lescovar and Carmen Smeu.

Career

Rauta has competed as early as the 2007 "Little Gymnast" Nationals, winning vault and floor exercise bronze, and placing sixth in the all-around, and seventh on balance beam. At the 2008 Junior Individual Nationals, she placed 24th in the all-around. In 2009, she competed at the Romanian School Nationals, winning balance beam gold, vault bronze, and placing fourth in the all-around, and placed seventh in the all-around at the Junior Team Nationals. She also won all-around, balance beam, and floor exercise gold medals.

In 2010, she competed at the Junior Team Nationals, winning team silver and placing fourth in the all-around. She made her international debut at the Élite Gym Massilia. The Romanian team placed seventh there, and she placed twentieth in the all-around, At her first elite Romanian Nationals, she placed seventh on vault, eighth on bars, and tenth in the all-around. She placed ninth in the all-around at the Bumbo Cup.

In 2011, she competed at a friendly competition against Great Britain, contributing to the team gold medal. At the Junior Individual Nationals, she won gold on beam, bronze on uneven bars, and placing fourth on vault and fifth in the all-around and on floor. At the Romanian Nationals, she won all-around gold and uneven bars silver. In 2012, she competed in the Comaneci Invitational, winning vault silver and all-around, balance beam, and floor exercise bronze. At the City of Jesolo Trophy, the junior Romanian team placed fourth, and she placed nineteenth in the all-around. At the Romanian Nationals, she won bronze with her team and placed fourth on beam and sixth in the all-around.

She retired before she became senior elite.[1]
