Hey I've been researching full results from competitions you don't have full scores for, and I found a site that has tons of results from older competitions. I used this souce: http://www.gymn-forum.net/results.html And I would be happy to help edit these in because it would be great to have the results in.
Okay, that site fucking blew me away. If you want to create pages for these past competitions, go for it. Just make sure you link the results at the bottom of the page (i.e., at the bottom of the Rio page, the link to the official results is under "External Links").

I don't know how to add the results tab to compeitions like shown in rio since i don't have the best wiki editing skills. But once there are tables and stuff i would add everything in. But i'll add external links to them for sure
Oh, and "Scam" is gymternet slang for American Cup. Back in 2011, when Jordyn Wieber was subbed into the lineup despite not having competed at Worlds the previous year and won over Aliya Mustafina, bitter Russian stans starting calling the competition a scam and accusing it of being biased towards American gymnasts. It wasn't true, since 2011 was the first year the American Cup was part of the FIG World Cup series. However, the use of "Scam" stuck.
We of the gymternet have many slang words. Combine all that with the gymnastics terminology from the Code of Points and it's a bit like we have our own language.
I just joined this wiki and I am having trouble navigating so I am just wondering if there are any pages for countries where they show the gymnast and how many medals it has in total and stuff like that?
Re: Enus Mariani will step in for Vanessa Ferrari.
So you can put someone who didn't do qual into TF as long as you have a valid medical reason? I thought you could only sub in right before qual but I guess this means you could sub some1 in even if they didn't do qual if you have a valid med reason..
If you don't need a valid med reason, then US could've put Maggie as the alternate and then have both Brenna and Mykayla in qual. If everything went fine, then that's that... But if not, Maggie could've subbed in for someone who failed badly (say Brenna in this case)...
But yikes @ having to suffer through the secondhand embarrassment of Skinner's FX.
I really don't understand why they took her. It's not like she's a shoo-in for an individual medal. Aly's better on floor and even Bee Farm and her scary Cheng can beat Skinner's fake Cheng in vault finals. With Gabby and Brenna having Amanars again, she probably won't be used in team finals there.
I'm very much Team Brenna at this point and I hope to God Skinner is the alternate after podium training.
I do want to know Skinner's amanar status too. I wish Key did get her amanar but too bad she didn't. If key got the amanar, she could've replaced skinner if marta was ever in doubt of skinner's ability in vt EF.
Also I suspect that Key also didn't get high enough ub score to overtake brenna (even factoring in consistency bc if you are not consistent then you won't get good score average over several routines and marta probably made key and brenna do a million routines each, in front of each other :) )...
The decision to use or not use skinner cheng in TF probably will be made after qual (though I suspect it will be used). I do hope to see some improvement in Skinner though since it's probable they will use skinner fx, unless gabby has significantly improved her fx.
According to Simone, consistency was not an issue at camp. There was only one fall, total, in the all-around competition.
And remember last year when Baumann outscored Kyla on floor in quals but they used Kyla as the lead-off on floor in team finals? USA are so far ahead of everyone else, they don't need Skinner on floor. They could have Kocian lead-off on floor and they'd still win by about four points.
I vote for Brenna as lead off on fx :) Kocian fx is a lil weak D score but her routine is nice to see.... Actually, I wonder how gabby fx is coming along.... she needs to get 15+ fx to have any chance to even "attempt" to defend her Olympics AA....
It's aly vs gabby.. In the unlikely event that somehow Maggie gets to do AA, she won't beat aly or gabby as camp has consistently shown her in 4th below those. Gabby better on vt and ub vs aly better on bb and significantly better on fx.... It will be interesting both in qual as well as the battle of whoever that is vs larisa.
It's crazy to think that taking the best scores from both aly and gabby, simone would still be better....
Kyla Ross has expectedly withdrawed. Sad but glad for her at the same time!
belarusgate. Can't even go about how many things that are so wrong/shameful about this particular one. Two of Belarus best native gymnasts got their dream crushed and gave up their FIG licenses... the US girls flying straight to Glasgow knowing zero things about Belarus or giving a damn about the consequences or who they represent... So now is this how anyone who doesn't make the US squad will go about or any country that feels like it will just go about doing it? Last, not to mention the fact that Nellie Kim who is supposed to be a neutral FIG official is totally complicit in this...
This is so so different from Anna Pavlova competing for Azerbaijan. She actually moved there and didn't displace anyone in exist and actually helped to start their program.
haha I was wondering when you were gonna message me about BelarusGate. Honestly, I think Lauren's article on the situation sums everything up. She did crack me up on Tumblr calling them "Veruca Salt" and comparing her, "DADDY I WANT A GOLDEN GOOSE" to "DADDY I WANT TO GO TO WORLDS BUY ME A COUNTRY"
