Junior Career[]

In 2009, Kononenko competed at the Doha Gymnasiade in December, winning bronze with her team and silver on uneven bars.

Senior Career[]

At the 2010 European Championships, Kononenko competed at the uneven bars final, successfully clinching the bronze medal with a score of 14.750.  She also competed in the Team final, contributing a score of 14.625 on bars and a 12.600 on beam to Ukraine's 8th place finish.

She placed eighth on uneven bars at the Olympic Test Event in January, qualifying herself to the Olympic Games.

She competed at the European Championships in April, finishing tenth with the Ukrainian team and third in the uneven bars final, behind Russia's Anastasia Grishina and Viktoria Komova.

At the Olympics, she only competed in the qualifying round, as she didn't qualify for any events, but she hoped to qualify into the all-around and uneven bars final.

She also has an extremely complicated combination on the uneven bars, where she does a straddled Tkatchev with a half turn (a skill named after her), into a Jaeger between the bars.
